BLACK COPPER EUCALYPTUS COFFEE TABLE

Here we are building a 20″ by 44″ Eucalyptus Coffee Table

A gorgeous piece of Eucalyptus was selected and mounted in our form for the resin pour

We decided on a swirled black copper color

The deep pour layer is filled and set to dry

The surface is planed and sanded to a level finish

A 1/8″ sealer coat is applied

The square edges are rounded and smoothed

The surface is refined to a smooth, polished finish.

The tabletop is now prepared for a series of progressive wet sanding steps.

The wet sanding process will establish the desired level of gloss or matte finish.

This beautiful piece screams for a high gloss

The glass-like surface enhances the wood grain and highlights the resin’s colors.

The final result emphasizes the tabletop’s intricate details and unique character.

We’re now prepared to choose a base.

We first tried mid century modern legs

We weren’t satisfied with the appearance or stability, so we chose a more modern and sturdy base.

The outcome was a more cohesive and stylish appearance.
