Custom Order Design License Notice

This notice explains how design ownership, usage rights, and artistic rights work for all custom-made pieces created by Mountain Dog Millworks. It applies to slabs, furniture, resin river tables, mantels, islands, countertops, and décor.

Mountain Dog Millworks retains all intellectual property rights to design sketches, digital renderings, CAD drawings, photos, videos, proprietary methods, and design concepts used to create your custom project.

You receive a personal-use license that allows you to display your piece, share photos socially, and sell the physical item later. You may not reproduce, mass-produce, resell the design, or claim the design as your own.

Customers may not:

  • Mass-produce or manufacture our designs
  • Reverse-engineer or duplicate our methods
  • Use our designs for resale, product lines, or branding
  • Sell or share design files
  • Commission third parties to reproduce our work

We may photograph or film the item for our website, store gallery, social media, Toby’s Toolshed content, ads, and portfolio. We will never share customer addresses or private information.

Commercial use—such as branding, resale, architectural plans, or mass production—requires a separate written agreement and licensing fee.

Raw design files, sketches, and CAD drawings are not provided unless purchased separately or covered by a commercial-use license.

Modifications may be possible before production begins. After production starts, changes may require additional fees or may not be possible. We do not guarantee structural integrity of designs altered by the customer.

If the piece is resold, the physical item transfers, but the design license does not. The new owner receives only personal-use rights.

By commissioning custom work from Mountain Dog Millworks, you acknowledge and accept these Custom Order Design License terms.
