Why We Joined the Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce

At Mountain Dog Millworks, we believe that being an active part of our local community is just as important as the craftsmanship we put into every handmade piece. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we’ve officially joined the Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce.

Here’s Why This Matters:

  1. Supporting Local Business Connections
Joining the Chamber connects us with other local entrepreneurs and businesses, allowing us to build strong partnerships and support a thriving local economy.
  2. Community Involvement
We’re deeply rooted in the Tehachapi mountains, and this is our way of giving back—by participating in local events, initiatives, and collaborations that enrich our town.
  3. Increased Visibility
As a Chamber member, we’ll have more opportunities to showcase our handcrafted woodwork to residents, local builders, and design professionals who value sustainability and quality.
  4. Access to Resources and Events
Membership gives us access to valuable business development resources, educational workshops, and events that help us continue to grow and improve.
  5. Shared Values
The Chamber promotes integrity, sustainability, and community—values we live by every day through our responsible timber sourcing, custom designs, and hands-on craftsmanship.

Ghost and Koda: The Guardians of Craftsmanship
Ghost and Koda, the towering Alaskan Malamutes and mascots of Mountain Dog Millworks, bring more than just charm to the shop—they’re the heart of the operation. Ghost, with his striking white coat and piercing blue eyes, arrived first, quickly earning his nickname "The Inspector" for his watchful eye and insistence on perfection. Koda, his playful and spirited counterpart, joined soon after, lifting morale with his energy and uncanny ability to sniff out the best timber.

Together, they supervise every project, ensuring the highest quality and keeping the team motivated. Customers often say the spirit of these two remarkable Huskies is embedded in every handcrafted piece, making Ghost and Koda an unforgettable part of the Mountain Dog Millworks story.
